NEW RELEASE OF PROJECTKOACH |

Delta, B.C., Canada, August 31, 2007– GOOD Software Inc. announces the release of ProjectKoach 2007.2, a FREE process-empowered software project management tool for agile teams. The ProjectKoach 2007.2 release fully endorses the newly released OpenUP process, which is the result of the Eclipse Process Framework initiative. ProjectKoach is a light-weight desktop project management tool specifically designed to help modern software teams swiftly manage their projects without the complexity normally associated with planning, estimation and status reporting. "In today’s fast-paced software industry you have to be agile to keep up with competition. At the same time you should welcome all the help you can get to master the complexity of your projects.” says Bjorn Gustafsson, founder of GOOD Software and inventor of the ProjectKoach technology. “A project’s requirements, issues, plans and tasks form a complex web of information. ProjectKoach helps you harness this complexity as your project moves forward.” ProjectKoach's visual workspace features an array of functions including visual planning, drag-and-drop requirements allocation, estimation, task allocation, real-time project status, defect tracking, and many more. “Our vision was to create a tool that integrates all the project and process management functions that enable you to be successful in software development. We also wanted this tool to support the agile work style of today’s self-managed software teams without compromise. We are proud to see that ProjectKoach realizes our vision.” adds Gustafsson. ProjectKoach's Smart Process feature helps software teams perform their projects according to the OpenUP process without the overhead and complexity normally associated with following a defined process. “Whether we like it or not, ‘process’ is an integral part of our daily project activities, be it an explicit process or just tacit knowledge. ProjectKoach makes process transparent to users, all they see is a richer user experience in their normal project management activities.” explains Gustafsson. ProjectKoach supports OpenUP in different ways: it directly automates OpenUP's project management work products; a bundled OpenUP configuration includes tool mentors that describe how to perform OpenUP tasks hands-on in ProjectKoach; and it includes two project templates for OpenUP projects, to help jump-start both adopting as well as more seasoned OpenUP teams. "The Eclipse Process Framework combines the best qualities of agile and RUP-like, documented, processes in a flexible and expandable framework. It adds both open source process development tools and free method content to the software process landscape, which is beneficial to the whole software industry. We at GOOD Software are excited about this advancement, and we fully endorse this new process with this release of ProjectKoach. The combination of ProjectKoach and OpenUP creates a powerful project management solution for the collaborative work-style of agile software teams; while OpenUP provides the collective know-how of the industry’s leading experts, ProjectKoach brings this know-how to work in your projects.” concludes Gustafsson.
